Bruins Visit Coyotes

The Boston Bruins come to town tonight to play the Phoenix Coyotes. The Bruins lost their first game against Dallas last night.

The Bruins made a move in the off-season to acquire former Minnesota Wild goaltender Manny Fernandez. However, for more information, please read Tom Luongo’s preview at AOL Fanhouse.

Coyotes goalie Mikael Tellqvist will get another start tonight and for good reason – he was terrific in the home opener.

For a view of the other side tonight, take a look at Wicked Bruins Fan. When I started, Jaci was one of the first hockey bloggers to notice One Fan’s Perspective and it was then I started shifting my focus away from the other sports and more towards Phoenix Coyotes hockey.

It turned out she also keeps tabs on Nick Boynton who came to the Coyotes via a trade that sent Paul Mara to Boston.

Yesterday, Matt Rosen caught up with Keith Ballard for an analysis of Ballard’s performance Thursday night.

  1. Telly has played great lately, but I belive he is not #1 goalie potential… I hope I´m wrong…

I belive in Alex Auld. When Gretzky is going to give him a chance… maybe after the Bruins game?

What´s your opinion? Do you have a favourite candidate for no.1 goalie or are you just happy when Yotes have a winning goalie?

PS- If you´re uploading those introduction videos, I´d die to see one of our Captain Doaner ;)

  2. Hi Juuso -

That’s a difficult question as I did have hope that Aebischer would fare better in preseason and I was very surprised when they signed Auld.

However, Auld had the better numbers in preseason and I thought he would get the nod on Thursday night.

That being said, I don’t have a clear favorite at this point, but one of the three has to break out.

For now though, I’d say if a goalie wins, he is in. Unless, it’s a back-to-back situation then, the other guy (maybe Auld) in this case plays.

I would think that Auld will play on Thursday in Nashville.

I got some of the player introduction stuff and the producers really focused on Doan when he was announced (last in the series). I hope that will work for you. :-)

  3. I watched some of the Coyotes game on Thursday night and was impressed by them. I think they’ll do well this season. :)

As for the Bruins, I was hoping they’d beat Dallas last night, but they didn’t. I think Phoenix will be tough on them too. Hopefully the Bruins can come out with a win, but I wouldn’t be too broken up about it if the Coyotes win. ;)
