One Fan’s Perspective 2.0

The show on FSN Arizona tonight discussed when we became hockey fans.  It also featured the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team that was in the basement for many years only to rise up in 2003-2004 and win the Stanley Cup.  Seeing that happen brought back many cool memories of a winter to spring to summer that I’ll never forget.

These events inspired me and I’ll update later.

FSN Arizona Receives Record Emmy Nominations

Like you, I watch a lot of hockey. Even though I tend to watch plenty of sports, I’m not a fanatic about the other three professional leagues (save for the National Football League) as much as I am about hockey. I am still interested in our other sports teams in Arizona.

Thanks to the NHL Center Ice package, there is a game every night and I spend my evenings watching the greatest sport on earth. No other sport has the physicality, the skill, and the speed combined like hockey does. I don’t need to tell you that – you already know.

However, because I view so much hockey, I listen to a lot of hockey broadcasters. Some are excellent and some are not. I won’t make the distinction here because it doesn’t matter.

What does matter is the regional station that produces hockey broadcasts for the Phoenix Coyotes, FSN Arizona, was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards. Todd Walsh has multiple entries for his work, notably with the Phoenix Coyotes and Arizona Diamondbacks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the staff at FSN Arizona picked up a few and hopefully one of those Emmy awards will be for hockey programming.
